Seventeenth Century England: The Reign of the Stuarts

ID : 2510
« back to classes page
The Stuart dynasty reigned in England and Scotland from 1603 to 1714, a period of intense religious debate between Catholics and Protestants and political debate between the Monarchs and Parliament. Both would contribute to a bloody civil war, the regicide of King Charles I, the rise of Oliver Cromwell and the royal restoration. The Stuarts are every bit as interesting, conflicted, and provocative as their Tudor predecessors.
