Essentially ignored by scholars, the decision by the United States to participate in the 1936 Olympic Games was profound and important. In this presentation, Mark Brown, who taught Introduction to Holocaust Studies at Glendale (Arizona) Community College, outlines reasons why the United States had to participate and identifies factions within the United States that argued for inclusion and those that favored a complete boycott.
