Every patient needs an advocate. Though patients and families may feel vulnerable at times, they can learn to clearly and assertively advocate for themselves and others in both hospital and out-patient settings. Dianne Borovies, MSN, RN, a published nursing educator with decades of nursing experience in varied health care settings, will present basic communication tools and techniques we can use to advocate for safe and effective health care.
