Murals and cave drawings date back approximately 35,000 to 50,000 years, originating in Borneo, Indonesia and France.  Now murals have become extremely popular around  the world to help brighten cities, replace graffiti and increase tourism. Some murals are basically pretty art while others share local history and honor historical community figures.  Some have specific societal messages. Tampa has over 200 painted murals!
