Hiroshima: Eighty Years Later

Hiroshima, the first target of the nuclear age, has since become a symbol of nuclear war and deterrence. We will address the development of the atomic and hydrogen bombs, as well as the arms race they incited.  We’ll consider the spread of nuclear weapons to smaller nations, strategies for deterrence and the Axis of Evil. We will address plans to replace aging nuclear weapons and the possibility of a doomsday scenario.
