In this walking tour we will focus on the period of 1886 to 1936, a significant era in Ybor City history. We will discuss the Italian and Spanish immigrants who made Ybor City their home, visit the Immigrant Family Statue, and walk the same brick streets as the hard workers who are memorialized in cigar factories, monuments, and places of hardship, pride, scandal, and triumph. Prerequisite: You must be able to walk for more than a mile and a half at a brisk pace on uneven surfaces and be able to stand for periods during this two-hour session.
